Marco Antonio Solís will bring his "Closer to You" tour to the United States.
Mexican singer-songwriter, musician, producer, and five-time Latin Grammy Award winner Marco Antonio Solís announced Monday that he will bring his " Más cerca de ti " tour to the United States in August, after visiting Mexico and South America earlier this year.
The North American leg of the tour will kick off August 1 in Denver, Colorado , and continue through cities in Texas , Oklahoma, California and Nevada, the organizers said in a statement.
Until its closing in Puerto Rico on October 11, dates will follow in New Mexico , New Jersey, Louisiana, North Carolina and Florida for a total of 18 dates .
The tour will come from Mexico and South America , where Solís performed for audiences in Santiago de Chile , Buenos Aires, Cartagena (Colombia), Asunción and Santo Domingo, among others.
Copies soldIn Mexico, he played eleven sold-out shows. Tickets for the North American tour will be available for pre-sale starting tomorrow, Tuesday , and general sale will begin on Friday.
With more than forty million copies of his albums sold and more than thirteen million monthly listeners on digital platforms, Solís is one of the most important figures in Mexican and Latin music .
Born in Michoacán , Solís created his first group, Los Hermanitos Solís , when he was just 12 years old, along with his brother Joel.
He was still a teenager when he formed his band Los Bukis in the early 1970s, which for two decades left an indelible mark on the norteño and tejano music of Mexico and the southwestern United States .
Although Solís continued working closely with Los Bukis , he embarked on a solo career that led him to obtain platinum records for his works ' Quiéreme ', ' Inalcanzable ' and 'Por amor a mi pueblo'.
